Announcement of Revision to Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Group’s Global Policy on Respecting Human Rights, Employment and Labor

Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation Group (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Jean-Marc Gilson) would like to announce that we have revised the details of the Global Policy on Respecting Human Rights, Employment and Labor in accordance with the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (hereinafter referred to as the “Guiding Principles”).
 
We have indicated to our Group members our basic understanding regarding human rights in conformity with international rules such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, United Nations Global Compact, the Guiding Principles, and ISO26000, and have established the Global Policy on Respecting Human Rights, Employment and Labor as a specific guideline.
We have recently revised part of the Policy based on the concept of human rights due diligence in conformity with the Guiding Principles.
We will continue to promote our efforts to identify, prevent, diminish, and report the adverse human rights impacts of our business activities.

Scope
- The Policy applies to all officers and members of every Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Group company.
- We expect all of our business partners to understand and support the principles of the Policy.
 
Key Points of the Revision
- Respecting human rights and supporting international standards and rules throughout the whole value chain
- Promoting efforts for human rights due diligence and remediation
- Promoting efforts to address important human rights issues in our Group and throughout the whole value chain
- Promoting efforts to establish a mechanism for reporting human rights infringements
- Providing education to our officers and members
- Regularly disclosing monitoring and progress information on our efforts
