Resource-Recycling (Label to Label) Shrink Sleeve Label Adopted for the first time in Japan

 
Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Group (MCHG) hereby announces that it has developed a resource-recycling (Label to Label) shrink sleeve label via material recycling through a joint demonstration project with Fuji Seal, Inc. (Fuji Seal: Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Kosuke Matsuzaki), which will make shrink sleeve labels for plastic bottles recyclable.
The resource-recycling (Label to Label) shrink sleeve label will be adopted for the first time in Japan for Yasai Seikatsu 100 Original (720 ml), a product of Kagome Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Naka-ku, Nagoya; President: Satoshi Yamaguchi).

Label to Label is a technology for recycling used shrink sleeve labels to new ones by eliminating the designs printed on the labels. Recycling labels that provide consumers with helpful information will contribute to resource recycling and GHG emissions reduction. The resource-recycling (Label to Label) shrink sleeve label is manufactured by combining Fuji Seal’s technology for removing printing ink and MCHG’s film-forming technology. For the printing of the new packages, eco-friendly biomass ink is used.
This initiative is a collaborative demonstration project focusing on the reuse of used labels in the entire "Label to Label".
