New Research Building for the Science & Innovation Center Opens
To Create Constant Innovation for Sustainable Social Contribution

The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (the MCG Group) hereby announces that construction of the new research building for the Science & Innovation Center, the MCG Group’s R&D site, has been completed in Aoba-ku, Yokohama City, and that the building opened today.
 
The Group has transformed its structure in order to promote integrated group management under the slogan of “One Company, One Team,” committing to efficiency-oriented business operations to achieve growth. The key to business growth is developing innovation based on solid R&D activities. Bearing this in mind, our R&D team is aiming to “become a world-class R&D function that creates innovation constantly to make sustainable social contributions.”
 
According to the above vision, the Science & Innovation Center will pursue innovation from a medium- to long-term perspective and with a primary focus on basic research based on scientific study, while engaging in communication with internal and external parties. The new building houses our largest-scale research facilities, including state-of-the-art digital equipment aimed at faster and more efficient R&D activities as well as appropriate functions to foster collaborations with our customers and partners. With these capabilities in place, the Center has made a new start to offer innovative solutions.

Structure: six stories above ground and one underground
Construction area: approx. 10,000 m2 (total floor area: approx. 42,000 m2)
